Story behind the song
This song has been created from my feelings over the passing of my oldest and dearest friend, Darrell Colon recently. I’ve known him for over 62 years. We met in 3rd grade at the age of 8 or 9 and fast became friends. All the early years of experience we shared, especially the love of music and our development as musicians. I live in New York and Darrell went off to live in Los Angeles over 40 years ago, but we never lost contact or our bond. Through the exchange of music, photos and mostly words over the phone, we relived our early days and the current changes to our lives. Now he is gone physically and the words have stopped, but he is with me now in ways that are unspoken.
